MELTFIT SOLO TUBE
Establishing solid and easy one-to-one connections
- The Meltfit Solo Tube was the first one that NLISIS launched in 2008 together with the Meltfit One. The Meltfit connections are established by melting the Solo Tube and adding pressure at the same time. As a result, the small glass tube is gently positioned around the columns as a ‘second skin’, leaving no room for dead volume or leaks. The special glass has been developed, tested and produced within NLISIS Chromatography.
There are many applications for the Meltfit Solo tubes, such as to protect the analytical column with a pre-column, to connect a retention gap to the analytical column and to combine two columns with different stationary phases to obtain a mixed selectivity.
As such, the Meltfit Solo tube is a very good alternative for pressfits and metal connectors.
- The Meltfit Tubes are sold in packages of 5. There are 2 types of Meltfit Tubes available:
- Blue: for coupling columns of size 0.53 to 0.1 mm, used in applications up to 360 °C.
- Red: for coupling columns of size 0.53 to 0.1 mm, used in applications up to 420 °C.
- Yellow: for coupeling columns of size 0.25 to 0.1 mm, used in application up to 390 °C. Yellow Meltfit solo tubes were especially developed for GCxGC.
The glass is chemically deactivated, limiting interaction of the glass with it’s environment to zero.
